How To Plan For A Newborn Photoshoot

In order to capture your newborn in adorable curly poses, you should take newborn photos five to twelve days after giving birth. It is important that you schedule your photography session ahead of time. If you would like a newborn photo shoot, in particular, many photographers recommend that the session takes place within the first two weeks after birth.

Your baby’s first two weeks they will be more likely to sleep through the session. This will allow your photographer to capture all of those adorable sleepy newborn photos you are looking for. An important aspect of ensuring a smooth photo shoot is keeping your baby warm and toasty throughout the session. It is also important to loosen up your baby’s clothing and diapers before the photo shoot. It’s important to feed your baby before a shoot.Burp your baby before the shoot to avoid uneasiness. Make sure the room where the shoot is being conducted is silent. A sleepy baby makes for a smooth photo shoot so it’s a good idea to try swaddling them if they get fussy half way through. Keeping your calm is one of the most important parts of attending a professional baby photo shoot. I conduct my session in my house.I have a separate room where the mother can feed the baby and chance diapers. A newborn session, can take alot of time considering the mood of the baby. As a photographer one must be calm and patience.

I hope my blog will be helpful to you.

How to take a Self Portrait

A self-portrait is “a portrait that an artist produces of themselves.” On the other hand, a selfie is “a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and shared via social media.

Self portraits give photographers the chance to experiment with different lighting, angles, and lenses. No one scrutinizes a portrait as much as the subject of that photo, so if you can find an approach that you actually like, chances are your clients will like it, as well.

The self-portrait allows you to see yourself as others might see you. It allows others to see you as you see yourself or as you wish to been seen. These are all the fancy footsteps of self-awareness that make us human. Of course there might be some very practical reasons why photographers create self-portraits.

Camera Settings and equipment to use for portraits:

Lens – to flatter your subject use a short telephoto lens.

Tripod – use one when you and the subject aren’t moving.

Remote trigger or cable release- use one!

Shoot in Manual mode.

ISO – low like 100-400 if possible, higher if a faster shutter speed is needed.

Focus mode – autofocus, set it to a single point and use back button focus.

Drive mode – single shot.

Aperture – between f/2 and f/4 for a single subject (get the background out of focus) or f/5.6-f/8 for groups.

Shutter speed – at least 1/200th handheld, or 1/15th on a tripod (faster if you’re photographing kids).

White balance – choose the appropriate preset for the lighting conditions or do a custom balance.

You can also download an app from play store and scrutinize it with your camera to take self portraits.

Example : If you are using Sony camera you can download imaging edge mobile software.

I hope my blog will be informative for you to take self portraits.
